Herbs promote weight loss in a number of ways. Herbs send signals
to the brain saying that the stomach is full.
Loosing weight is not as tough as you think. Lifestyle change
and dietary modifications can make all the difference along
with will - power and determination.
A few important steps that involve successful weight
loss are:
- Regular exercise
- Reduce calories and fat intake
- Usage of principal nutrients to reduce appetite, burn
excess fat and remove extra water.
Follow a weight loss program that suits you. Excess fat can
also be because of water, water retention is also a cause
of excess weight in the body. The suggested weight
loss programs includes a diet low in fat and high in complex
carbohydrates with a good amount of protein and other nutrients.
Carbohydrates takes up more space in the stomach thus making
you feel fuller.
Crash dieting is ineffective and could also be dangerous
to the body. These diets encourage only temporary weight loss
and infuse nutritional deficiencies. With crash diets the
dieters gain back all the weight lost or even more in a less
span of time. Majority of your calories should be consumed
within the day; the metabolism slows down as evening progresses.
Eat baked, roasted, broiled meat, poultry, seafood, and
lean red meat in moderation. Consume the food items, where
it's been mentioned that the contents is low fat. Use salt
free seasoning.
Some of the sweet substitutes are:
- Unfiltered honey
- Pure maple syrup
- Malted grain syrup
- Fruit juice concentrate
- Unsulfured molasses
Exercise:
Exercise 3 times a week for 20-30 minutes. Increase your
overall activity, such as climbing stairs instead of using
the elevator and parking your car at the opposite end of the
parking lot. Cycling, brisk walking, aerobics also help in
shedding those extra pounds.
Some herbs that are known to cause severe side effects
and could even lead to death are:
Herbal laxatives - usually sold as a diet
tea, cascara, senna, buckthorn, aloe and rhubarb root. If
these herbs are overused, could cause your bowels to no longer
function without laxative stimulation, plus could cause cramping
and diarrhea.
Herbal fen- phen - has not been shown to
even work in clinical trials, but its misuse can result in
from heartbeat irregularities to death from heart attack and
stroke.
Ephedra - can raise blood pressure, increase
heart rate and over stimulate the central nervous system.

of Ephedra which

heart attack.
Green tea - it has an added benefit of
vitamin C. it is a natural stimulant and behaves a lot like
coffee.
Seaweed - it is a natural thyroid stimulant,
with good source of trace minerals such as chromium and iodine.

any other medication. Your health is extremely important and
