Yale University School of Medicine, a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advisory panel recommended that phenylpropanolamine (PPA) be removed from over-the-counter appetite suppressants and cold medicines. The safety of the medicine has been questioned on a number of occasions.

According to nutritionist Frances Berg, publisher of the Healthy Weight Journal, diet pills containing PPA can cause irritability, abnormal heart rhythm, high blood pressure, heart and kidney damage, seizures, and fatigue. Diet pills are not a permanent solution to controlling your weight. The members of the FDA advisory committee stated that the consumers who consume diet pills eventually regain their pounds.

The intake of diet pills were started at the early age of 12 years to 16 years. Many even consumed much more than the dosage prescribed.

  • Fad diets and rapid weight loss programs may help you loose weight fast but may cause severe health hazards. Your body will go into starvation mode; your metabolism rate will slow down and your weight loss will become even more difficult if you consume extremely less calories.
  • If realistic goals are set for loosing weight, it will be easier to attain the target of loosing weight.
  • Starting a sudden set of an exercise routine can lead to burn out and injuries.
  • Try to get in a total of at least 150 minutes of walking or other physical activity per week.

  • It has been stated by experts that diet pills are fraudulent, the pills can be appealing but the hazards are tremendous. There chances that the consumer can soon become dependent on the pills, which could in turn lead to substance abuse.

    Diet pills can be very tempting, since it's considered the easy way out option for the never-ending weight problems that persist, but the most natural - sounding diet pills can be useless or even worse could be dangerous.
