Most of us are scared of the term obesity as it makes
us look unattractive and undesirable. Obesity is usually
associated with a host of other diseases therefore it's
very essential for all of us to get rid off this dreaded
ailment at the very onset. Obesity normally occurs due
to poor diet and lack of exercise.
Junk food, one of the root causes of childhood obesity
and obesity in general refers to those categories of
food which are limited in nutritional value. Foods those
are high in salt, sugar, fat or calories and low nutrient
content normally fall into the junk food category. Salted
snack foods, candy, gum, most sweet desserts, fried
fast food and carbonated beverages are some of the major
junk foods. Generally, they offer little in terms of
protein, vitamins or minerals and lots of calories from
sugar or fat.
The main reason behind the widespread popularity of
junk food is its taste. A sheer look at these foods instigates
a craving for them. They feel extremely good to our taste buds
but highly dangerous in our health context. So, its better to
stay away from them as long as possible.
Therefore for keeping the weight under control, eating
a healthy diet is very essential as it makes us look
healthy and feel healthy from inside out. We need to
judge each food based on the list of ingredients and
Nutrition Facts label found on packages. When reading
the list of ingredients, look for sugar, fat or salt
as one of the first three ingredients. If any of these
are listed that high in the ingredients, you can probably
consider that food to be too high in sugar, fat or salt.

to cut down on your junk food intake for getting an
enviable physique.
