Our society's' food habits are such that it usually
leads to obesity. The lifestyles and the ever-increasing
trends block people's mind in deciding what is beneficial
for their physical well being. People access high calorie
foods, high calorie drinks and snacks easily. But they
miss out the basic fact that even though these commodities
titillate their taste buds, they will be leading to
extreme eating disorders.
Applying 'Eat Less-Exercise More' process
is truly difficult than it may seem to be. Also, people
generally think of adopting quick weight loss programs
to lose their weight. But this is just like a proverb
"making castle in the air" and nothing more.
Things can work out only if a positive approach is developed
towards weight control. Then the willingness to work
on it will automatically follow.
Though several fad diets such as Zone diet and Busters
diet are popular they don't work out for some. Not all
diets are suited for all and people don't research before
following a particular diet.
You can eat different type of foods and pick your choice
of weight loss program but do not expect any quick fix
or miracle. There's nothing magical about certain foods
or combination of foods. A calorie is a calorie no matter
how it is taken or consumed.
According to the research conducted by Harvard Medical
School researchers published in the International Journal
of Obesity, only one in five participants stuck with
a diet that restricted fat intake to 20 percent of its
1,200 to 1,500 daily calories; more than half stayed
with the plan (and maintained a significant weight loss)
where 35 percent of those calories came from fat.

Summary: A low-fat diet coupled with
regular exercise results in weight loss. We should opt
for only those diet plans which contain less fat calories.
Good diet plan advises that people should take
30 percent of calorie level diet. But stringent diet
plan restrict it to 15 to 20 percent. If we people are
not offering less calorie food, it naturally leads to
weight gain.
